Auto industry experts Autotrader have released their list of the best Certified Pre-Owned programs offered by both luxury and non-luxury automakers for 2016. The primary criteria in selecting the top program is the length of the powertrain warranty. Other categories factored in included bumper-to-bumper limited warranty length, warranty transferability and deductible amount.
Hyundai was honored with the title Best Non-Luxury Certified Pre-Owned Program for 2016.
Brian Moody, editor in chief for Autotrader, said Hyundai clinched the top spot among all non-luxury brands by having the best warranty coverage, transferability and a low deductible.
“We think Hyundai offers the best CPO program among non-luxury automakers,” Moody said. “The main reason is its excellent warranty, which is really just a continuation of the brand's outstanding new-car warranty: 5 years or 60,000 miles of bumper-to-bumper limited coverage and 10 years or 100,000 miles of powertrain coverage from the car's original sale date. We also like the fact that Hyundai's CPO warranty is fully transferable to subsequent owners in a private sale and offers a relatively low deductible of $50 — lower than some rivals and about the same as most others.”
One of the most exciting vehicles available for purchase through the CPO program is Hyndai’s unique Genesis sedan, which has the refined aesthetics of a luxury car and the driving dynamics of sports car. The relative affordability of the Genesis makes it a one of a kind offering in the midsize luxury sedan market, one that was awarded Consumer Guide® Automotive’s “Best Buy” award.
Derrick Hatami, vice president of national sales for Hyundai Motor America, said purchasing a Hyundai vehicle like the Genesis through the CPO program is a great way to further maximize the value of a Kia purchase.
“Hyundai Certified Pre-Owned vehicles not only come with the best warranty coverage, but they are also inspected by our trained technicians to meet the highest quality and to be in like-new condition,” Tatami said. “At Hyundai, we strive to make things better for our customers and with our CPO program we are doing just that. Our owners are receiving more than $2,000 in added value, and peace of mind with fewer problems down the road through our CPO program.”
Hyundai’s Fluid Sculpture design philosophy has been the aesthetic underpinning of all the company’s vehicles since it’s introduction on the 2009 Sonata sedan, and every Hyundai model since then has expanded the scope and refined the essence of that philosophy. The 2016 Hyundai Genesis sedan represents a rebirth of the Fluid Sculpture design, embodying its fundamentals of fluid aesthetics, modern styling and premium ambience, and bringing them to new heights of sophistication.
If you’re considering the purchase of a midsize luxury sedan like the 2016 Jaguar XF, the 2016 Volvo S60, the 2016 Lexus ES or even the 2016 Audi A8, you might find a better value in the 2016 Hyundai Genesis sedan, especially if you buy a Universal Certified Hyundai.
